Bodybuilding
Suit "Do's & Don'ts"
Thinking
of Competing for the first time? Here's
a few things you should know to have
a successful and fun experience!
 |
Your
suit is a VERY important part of your show,
therefore, It is imperative that you have a proper bodybuilding suit that
fits you and shows off your physique without covering up essential areas
such as your back & shoulders. LADIES
don't ever think it's ok to wear last years bikini.. IT'S
NOT! And men, posing in your cotton
briefs or favorite Calvins' is not appropriate! Even if you're all
muscular and PUMPED, no one will be
paying attention to that! No support of a proper suit while you are
sweating under those hot lights will certainly give your ego a reason to
rapidly DEFLATE! |
 |
Try
to have two suits for a show. A basic suit for the
morning/pre-judging show is appropriate, and then go for the GLAM
at the night show.. that's when you shine for the majority of the public. |
 | Make
sure your suit FITS! It's important that
you fit your suit again just before your show. Because you are in your
dieting phase of the preparation, you are still dropping body fat rapidly so
be prepared for a little nip & tuck a day or two before the show.
Also.. for the Ladies, often we find that because we get so lean, the chest
area may not be as "abundant" as we would like! Try using a
product such as "Shaper
Pads".. they're a great way to boost the bosom! |
 |
Don't
wait until the last minute to get your suit and accessories in order!
Remember, a good custom suit takes approximately 4-6
weeks to make, and if where you order it from is not local, you
need to also keep in mind shipping time. |
 |
Make
sure you have a TANNED tone to your skin!
Even if you are tanning for the show by using indoor tanning beds, it is
still essential that you use a temporary tanning product such as "Dream
Tan" or "Pro
Tan" to enhance your
muscle definition. I have actually viewed "first timers" up on the
stage with pasty white skin.. NOT flattering
under those lights what so ever, no muscle definition is visible, and
you are giving off such a glare the audience needs to wear sunglasses! |
 | Last,
but not least.. make sure your suit stays PUT!
I've seen it happen too many times Ladies, you're in a double bicep or side
chest pose and totally oblivious to the fact that your suit has taken a
sudden turn.. for the worse! Embarrassing to
say the least, and if you DO happen to notice.. It's a difficult situation
to recover from gracefully! And men.. I realize that you may think
it's Macho, but it's not cool to be constantly pulling your suit from
between your cheeks.. Make sure you have plenty of "Bikini Bite"
or similar product handy to ensure that you keep those body parts that
are near and dear to you PRiVATE! |
HAVE
FUN!
